Suzy Gonzales was a bubbly 19-year-old with an infectious smile.
She grew up in the Northern California Town of Red Bluff and earned a full scholarship
to Florida State University. Unbeknownst to her family, Suzy also suffered from depression
and on March 23, 2003, with the help of an online suicide group, she killed herself.

Suzy logged on to a suicide website in the months before her death.
She expressed her suicidal thoughts and was told that suicide was the only way to end
her pain. She was coached how to pose as a jeweler to obtain cyanide, encouraged not to see
her doctor, not to take her medicine, not to discuss with anyone her suicidal thoughts.
And at the end a group member edited her goodbye letter to her parents.

Suzy Gonzales was a bright girl who needed to be reminded of the good things
in life, not encouraged to end it. At the time of her death, Suzy was the 14th confirmed
suicide associated with this particular site, they claim 24 "successes" today.
