At the request of Suzy's family, Congressman Wally Herger has proposed
legislation that would prohibit the use of interstate commerce for suicide promotion.
In essence, this bill will prohibit the use of the Internet as a tool to provide an individual with information
on how to commit suicide if the information will likely be used in a suicide. Violation of this
law will result in a fine and or a maximum five years in prison. If a violation results
in a death, the maximum violation increases to possible life in prison.
